Blind Faith ("Danny")
16 inches x 20 inches
Mixed media with collage, acrylic, paint pen, and spray paint
I took a decidedly minimalist approach to this piece and used simple, bold black and white imagery and only selectively added collage and paint to highlight the background areas. In particular I incorporated white paint into the grey background by writing a few of the Chinese characters I know how to write (like my name) and then covered parts of it with grey paint to add highlights and depth, and to create the illusion of a worn surface that had perhaps peeled and had been painted over previously.
