Alphabattle
30” x 40” canvas
Acrylic paint, house paint, and spray paint
This older piece was created around 2014, when I first began using spray paint consistently in my artwork. To create the feeling of an urban city wall I rolled on a tan house paint and added white and other colors to create the feel of worn concrete. I then hand sprayed the alphabet in white and black. My can control and technique was very limited at the time but the urban feel of this piece and it’s simplicity set the groundwork for my evolving creative voice and a number of the collections I have created more recently.
